Dream, Plant, and Grow
Where are all my dreamers out there? How about the plant lovers? Let’s not forget about all the seekers of knowledge, experience, and understanding. Do you love to dream and be inspired, but know that a dream without a plan or direction is just wishful thinking? Are you are a lover of all nature and believe in the benefits that plants provide? Do you get excited about new experiences, learning, and anything that helps you have a deeper understanding of the things that spark a fire within your heart, belly, and your soul?
If you’re reading this, raising your hand, and making noises like Arnold Horshack on Welcome Back Kotter, YOU are my kind of people. Ooh! Ooh! That reminds me of a fun fact. My mom never paid attention to school photo day (or any event for that matter), so one year I was front and center in the class photo with a t-shirt that had Vinnie Barbarino’s mug and the phrase “Up Your Nose With A Rubber Hose”. Thankfully I didn’t end up in one of those memes of embarrassing childhood photos!
I’ve always loved to dream and have been known to concoct some crazy ideas. I think my husband actually cringes when he hears, “Hey, I have an idea”. But you know what though? Those crazy ideas have produced some pretty amazing things. Seriously, though. I can’t help it. When I get creative, I just feel more alive.
I’ve been gardening for as long as I can remember. Plants have really brought so much richness to my life. Gardening grounds me and brings me peace. I have extensive flower, vegetable, herb, and edible flower gardens. Confession - I can’t ever have enough “green people” in my circle. Ever heard the saying, “Gardening is cheaper than therapy, and you get tomatoes”? It’s not just a saying. I really believe that when we are closer to nature, we feel whole. Bury your troubles in the dirt I say!
As for the “grow” part of this, besides the obvious gardening aspect, it’s about our own growth. Anyone who knows me knows I am always trying something new, taking a class, traveling, or taking on a new endeavor. Each day, I strive to be just a little better than I was yesterday, and I want to leave the world a little bit better than the way I found it. I also think that we don’t grow without challenges. Life, and gardening both bring lots of those, don’t they?
Overall, I’m a bit of a mixed bag. I’ve got a quirky sense of humor and know that life can become way to serious. Besides, I think we could all use a little more laughter. So, in the coming months, I hope to share some fun little entertaining snippets in this Blog that will inspire you to dream, plant and grow. I’ll try to give you a chuckle as well.
Until next time…
Dream Big, Plant Love, and Grow Where You’re Planted
